I think that when caufield was younger he was a nicer person. Because you don't see judgmental, emotionally steel people going around smashing glass windows with their fists because their brother died, just nice people that go emotionally crippled like the guy off of Deadspace Downfall, he was a nice guy up untill he went crazy and turned on the only people who could save the ship with a plasma chainsaw.
...And because he still carries his brothers baseball glove around with him after multiple expultions...

i think that your right on that Holden used to be a nice person who wasn't as judgmental until his brother died. I agree that things turned for the worst when his brother died because he did not know how to handle it. I'm not so sure about the Deadspace Downfall...but you may be getting to something when he pushes away the people who can help him...
ReplyDeleteBreaking windows when your brother dies doesn't bring him back or help him in any way. It is only self satifaction. This makes me think either Holden is stupid, crazy, or human.
ReplyDeleteI think you're right. I think he changed a lot since Allie died. He probably was a lot more of a normal person in comparison to others, maybe his brother dying "Shook him awake" and that's why he only sees the bad in everything now. It makes you wonder if he'll ever see the good again.
